Yesterday I got an email from Luxembourg. Attached was a “Certificate of Merit…to AT (my stage name) in recognition of his high artistic quality”. In 2022 I applied for the Luxembourg ART Prize 2022 with the Corona cycle “2020”. Sure, I was very happy that the recognition for my work was honored. – A photo in the News 2020 with a carer holding an old person in his arms had inspired me. One image became six: an elderly lady waving outside the window in isolation; a wooden doll – a symbol for art – which was also “locked up”, many elderly people who were cut off from the outside world alone in their apartments and also died alone without relatives. In the end there were six pictures that now hang in my studio. – I thank the jury of the museum for this honor.
